Work situation finally resolved as of yesterday. I am staying in online comms and will be working three days a week from May. I'm taking on responsibility for social media on my third day and I have the flexibility to work one of my days from home so should still be able to pick up Sofia from school three days a week.
All in all, a good result and it's nice to have something new to focus on at work. Now I can legitimately be on facebook or blogging from my desk!
